Car described in hit and run

IDAHO FALLS _ Idaho State Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for the car that hit and killed an Idaho Falls woman south of Idaho Falls early Wednesday morning.

Pieces of the grill found at the scene indicate the car that hit Katherina Dodds, 33, was a 1982 Oldsmobile 88, said ISP Sgt. Jay Komosinski. Further investigation showed the pieces came from that type of car rather than a Chevrolet as earlier reported, he said. The Oldsmobile that hit Dodds will have damage to the grill.

Dodds, who recently moved back to Idaho Falls from California, was found dead early Wednesday in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 91 at the Jameston Road intersection. An autopsy showed Dodds was hit by a car, Komosinski said.

“The autopsy was conclusive,” Komosinski said. “She was killed by a vehicle striking her from behind.”
